It all started when I brought my first 2 kittens when I first moved out from my parents home into my first home, they were the first pets I actually owned on my own, I named then Gizmo and Pepsi, they were my first baby's and that's where it all started....my love of cats.Over the years I have had a few cats in all different colours, sizes both males and females and even fostered for cats protection for a while, which I loved doing!
I got my first British Shorthair kitten in 2010 from a very good friend of mine and from the moment I saw him I had to have him. He was a cream boy, his colouring was nothing I had seen before and with his piercing amber eyes melted my heart.......I called him Yoda and he was like a baby! so different to all the other cats I had ever had, so affectionate, he was actually more like a dog than a cat...and being a dog lover too, I had the best of both worlds with him.
In 2016 after adopting my 2 girls and stopping work as a carer, I decided to make a huge carer change, I decided I wanted to breed these amazing cats, to let people experience the same effect these amazing cats had on me, it also gave me the best of both worlds, my animals and being a stay at home mum for my now 3 children. I knew straight from the start my stud boy would have to be cream! my first girl was a blue who we named storm, if your are wondering where the name "Marvel Cats" come from its because myself and my family are massive marvel fans and naming my boy "Thor" started it all off, now we have our own DC/AVENGERS team of the fury kind.
In 2017 I applied to GCCF for my prefix which we were given and of course we had to choose a name that had a real meaning to us, so we chose a name after the boy himself "THORCATS"........
My aim is to breed 100% healthy strong kittens, I put 100% of my time and love into each one and I think that shows when you meet them, from the moment you pick them up and they purr in your arms as its the best feeling ever, I love what I do and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. Its a 24/7 job that makes me laugh, smile and sometimes cry but i wouldn't change it for the world!
I remember reading a sign once in a shop and its a saying i still use now "you never own a cat, a cat owns you"
